Basic Personal Computer Skills for Children and the Youth

help us with computer and knowledge
In Kilimanjaro Region the majority of children
and the youth are lacking basic skills to work with a personal computer and an
understanding of the internet. Internet is becoming increasingly available at
reasonable costs in Kilimanjaro Region. To overcome the barriers of access due
to a lack of personal computer skills, we started our project “Basic Personal
Computer Skills”. We are convinced that an improved access to the internet
based on basic personal computer skills can promote access to information,
institutions and people, which in turn can enhance children and youth to be
globally connected. The goal is to increase the awareness of opportunities of
studying, working and information exchange. The pilot project was conducted in
Gonja, Pare Mountains and classes are supposed to be held continuously.
Expansion to other areas is possible depending on teaching and material
capacity.
