Our Vision:
Services rendered to a community which is committed, dedicated, responsible, self reliant and enlightened about its choices and decisions towards improvements of its people’s livelihood.
Our Mission:
To work with people and for the people in order to promote and facilitate integral and sustainable community development and hence, attaining improved quality of life.
KIHO pursues its mission through different approaches and strategies. Such include the following: -
Organising seminars, workshops, special forums and study tours.
The use of educative entertainments such as dramas, singing, dancing and art works (organized by youths, women and children) are used in dissemination of the intended message to the targeted group.
Our Beliefs:
Unity and solidarity amongst its members.
Self development (knowledge wise) and creativity amongst its targeted groups, stakeholder and organization members in fulfilling the mission of the organization.
Building positive relationship, reciprocal – sharing of the information and promoting constructive and challenging dialogues amongst members.
Mainstreaming, analyzing and putting into proper perspective the issue of gender, equality and equity in all organization programs.
Volunteerism and sacrifice by each individual member of the organization, for the benefit of the community, vulnerable groups and for the organization’s activities. This is for paramount importance and strictly should be un-escapable by any of the organization’s member.
Openness and fairness is un-escapable during the interaction of organization members, executive committee and secretariat.
Taking lead in punctuality at any committed working place, appointments and at village meeting.
Taking lead in ensuring positive and qualitative changes, as KIHO members, who are determined and dedicated to be the development agent of change.
Our Objectives:
Lobbing and advocacy on people’s rights in accordance with principles of the United Nations on human rights so as to attain peace and justice.
Cooperating with other development stakeholders to fight against poverty spread of HIV/ AIDS and corruption in Tanzania.
To cooperate with other development stakeholders in facilitating and organizing the interventions related to relief and emergency.
To mobilize the local and foreign resources that can make easier the availability and accessibility of drinking water to the most vulnerable communities.
To advocate for the small and large scale economic projects for the marginalized and other disadvantaged groups in our communities (e.g. in the area of agriculture, environment/ forestry, animal husbandry, energy generation/ renewable energy and youth employment).
Cooperation with other interested development partners (within and outside the country) willing to join hands in improving, promoting and supporting the development of education and health sectors – in terms of infrastructures and service facilities.
To work with the grassroots communities to identify and deeply research on issues affecting community development and hence recommend for the possible interventions.
To facilitate the work of information gathering, documentation, and dissemination of relevant information to the grassroots development stakeholders for the purpose of learning working in the area and self challenging.
To promote and maintain good relationship with the government and other developmental – minded organizations.
